I was going to work at a Coldstone Creamery during college, until I learned the interview involved singing and dancing. Idiots, if you ask me.

Some people go overboard when THEY are not comfortable interviewing. You should never focus just on low key companies…you will find that some of the managers are still over the top when interviewing. You can handle this…most of the time there is not a wrong answer to some crazy questions…but you just have to be careful not to answer as honestly as you may think. I don’t mean lie…but keep it tactful. So never stay away from a job you really want because of ridiculous interviews. I know what you mean though…I had one with the city that was ridiculous. I walked into the room, and was met with conference table full of people to interview me. Over half of them (there were about 10) asked ridiculous questions that in my opinion had nothing to do with the job. The good thing is I made up my mind not to work for this company if they called. I had already met the staff…bunch of insecure and unintelligent people.

    Create a video blog…instantly.

If you look for jobs in casual places, you will end up with casual jobs – lower paying, less potential for growth, etc. Maybe that’s ok for you, at least right now. Eventually you may get tired of it.

If you challenge yourself by learning how to interview with some of those more formal copanies, you may be surprised by what you can learn. The job sites like monster and careerbuilder have sample interview questions in their “advice” sections, as well as lots of tips on how to ace an interview.

    Good luck, whatever you decide.
