Missy K asked:

I always had this problem so I am curious about some of the things you do to mentally prepare. How do you calm yourself?

Think of the meeting as meeting with a good friend. It’s that simple. You’re confident and happy with your friends, right? Just think of it as a more formal meeting with a friend, where you’re confident you can reach an agreement over just about anything that comes up in the conversation.

A job interview goes both ways. They are interviewing you to see if your a good fit and you are interviewing them to see if you want to work for them. With this in mind, I always try to focus my attention on what kind of boss I would have, who would I have to work with, what would I be doing, my salary, etc. instead of letting my mind run wild with nervousness. Hope that helps!

As soon as your interviewer asks you to sit down, take a seat and start thinking about how this interviewer looked when he/she was sitting on the potty-pot in his/her toilet today morning! We all look stupid sitting there! (Practice this visualization at home.) Then, quickly concentrate to answer his/her questions in a naturally intelligent way! Absolutely do not think of the results of the interview. Go to some interviews just to kick ass instead to get hired. You need that fun to gain confidence and knowledge that the world is a crazy place and that you can handle it!
